Brian d’Arcy James sings a Chinese food menu, a customer service manual and airline safety instructions

This is mainly for your summer Friday entertainment — but there is a bit of a Newvine Growing theme here.

Tony-nominated Broadway actor Brian d’Arcy James grew up in my hometown, Saginaw, Mich., and I was wowed by him in our high school’s production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

I love this video because while Brian’s been part of the “Time Stands Still” cast with Laura Linney, Eric Bogosian and Christina Ricci and in the Pulitzer Prize winning Broadway musical “Next to Normal,” to name a few, he doesn’t take himself too seriously to sing a Chinese food menu and get mocked for his eyebrows.

Maybe next time I’m being too self conscious or taking myself too seriously, I’ll just start singing “the mask will not inflate …”

I used to do this with my friends while trashed! I killed it once with an IKEA desk construction guide…in my really bad Swedish.
